I am an English TESOL certified teacher with experience of working with different ages and cultures. I have worked with children from 4 years old to teenagers in different settings, all in the medium of English language. Such as summer clubs, breakfast and after school clubs. Leading drama clubs as a coach, as a Storyteller for schools. Adapting plays and directing plays for school. As well as teaching creative writing and theater studies in a school setting for different ages and as coordinator of inter school theater and community outreach. As well as ESL teaching in a Cambridge center and teaching conversational Spanish for adults online.

My lessons strive to be 20 (teaching rule) 80 (practice), to allow them to practice what has been learned and offer
positive reinforcement and help when needed it. I like to use scaffolding to build up the knowledge, and always
try to recall prior learning. Perhaps during a warm up activity or at any given opportunity to constantly be in
contact with material that has been learned. I will be using the Input Hypothesis to challenge them beyond
current understanding, in order to keep them motivated and interested without overwhelming them, as I will be
using teacher talk and repetitions, elaboration and providing clarification to questions that the student may have.
Also to try to simplify expressions and use common cultural references that the students can relate to, as well as
providing guided and independent practice opportunities. An independent activity to end a lesson can be an
opportunity to individually check on the work of the students and identify any problems and give feedback.
I also encourage learners to use a range of language learning strategies. To take notes, to role play, ask
questions, to use resources and practice outside the classroom. The assessments I use, vary depending on the
needs of the group. It could be through continuous quizzes, role plays, writing activities, peer review assessment
or through the creation of a specific project.
