Who am I?
Hi! My name is Leonardo Emanuel. I’m 22 years old, Mexican, from Xalapa, Veracruz. I’m passionate about learning languages and discovering new ways to learn.
For me, teaching Spanish is about much more than simply giving lessons and getting paid. As a native Spanish speaker who has also learned English, I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to learn another language, especially when you don’t have the opportunity to be immersed in it. I also understand how difficult it can be to find someone who is willing to practice with you without judging your mistakes.
That’s one of the main reasons I decided to teach. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where you can be yourself, make mistakes, ask questions, and improve without feeling embarrassed.
A friendly and relaxed learning environment can make a huge difference. Building a good connection with the person you’re learning from can make the whole process much more enjoyable. And if we both feel comfortable, who knows? Maybe we can even become friends along the way.
There is always something new to learn, and I don’t believe there is only one correct way to learn a language. I’m always open to listening, receiving feedback, and learning from my students as well.

About the lessons
My classes are completely adaptable to what you need and are suitable for students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. I like my students to speak and express themselves as much as possible, while I guide the lesson according to their level. Depending on your preferences, we can approach the lessons in two main ways: a relaxed and informal approach or a more serious and structured one.
First, with a relaxed and informal approach, we can talk about whatever interests you have, whether you enjoy TV series, anime, manga, or movies, with genres like action, romance, horror, comedy, and more. But it doesn’t have to be limited to entertainment—we can also talk about politics, science, history, current events, or any other topic you’re interested in.
To explore these topics, we can use different sources of content, such as videos, books, magazines, articles, audio, or any other material you enjoy.
With a more serious and structured approach, we can focus on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, or any specific area you want to improve.
You can also choose how you want to receive your feedback. We can discuss mistakes and areas for improvement during the conversation or, if you prefer not to interrupt your fluency, I can give you the feedback at the end of the lesson.
One of the main parts of my method is comprehensible input, using content that is interesting and understandable enough to help you naturally acquire Spanish over time.
A tool I use a lot is Anki, a flashcard app based on spaced repetition, to help you learn and remember new vocabulary. I can teach you how to create cards with new words, their meanings, images, examples, and context, and how to review them regularly.
I also have Chrome extensions that make it easier to find and save new words while watching or reading content, so you can build your vocabulary from the Spanish you actually encounter.
I highly recommend having a physical notebook as well. During the lesson, you can use it to write the words and expressions down that you come across. After the lesson, you can add them to Anki and review them throughout the week.
My main goal is to help you learn neutral Spanish that allows you to communicate comfortably in different Spanish-speaking countries. If you want to learn slang or expressions from a specific country, just let me know which one and we can work on that too.
Each lesson lasts 50 minutes, including feedback. This gives us enough time to practice while still leaving room at the end to review your mistakes, answer questions, and highlight what you can work on next.
My schedule is flexible, so we can find a time that works well for both of us.
The idea is simple: you tell me what you want to achieve, and we work toward it together.
